Set in Afghanistan, this story follows the son of a wealthy businessman as they witness their world collapse. To avoid the turmoil they flee to the U.S. while leaving loved ones behind.
This is an excellent story that explores loss and friendship.
Because this story involves the friendship of two young boys, it is often labeled as Young Adult material. Readers should know this book contains many violent, adult themes and may not be appropriate for younger readers.
